AA Teamworks SCITT

Learn to teach with experienced and inspirational trainers

AA Teamworks School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) is a supportive, high-quality, well established teacher training provider which offers a range of school-based routes into Primary and Secondary teaching. We are the only ITT provider in Calderdale, and we serve the West Yorkshire and East Lancashire region with school partners in Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Oldham as well as Halifax and the surrounding areas.

Following a March 2024 Ofsted inspection, we were rated as ‘good’ in all areas, including quality of education and training, and leadership and management. Read our Ofsted report here.

  • Leaders have developed a high-quality training programme that successfully serves both the needs of trainees and of the wider local area. Leaders’ long-established vision to nurture excellent teachers is tangible.
  • Trainees benefit from exemplary training in early reading and phonics. Highly experienced and inspirational trainers lead high-quality training.
  • There is highly effective communication between course leaders, mentors and trainees.

Ofsted – March 2024

We plan our training programme to reflect the best research evidence on the most effective ways of teaching and learning for children and young people. Our rigorous programme is based entirely in schools, starting in a classroom from day one and includes training days taught by a specialist team of staff including classroom teachers, school leaders, SENCos, examiners and Specialist Leaders in Education. On completion of our programme our trainees achieve Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE from the University of Huddersfield.

What our trainees say

“The level of support on the course is incredible. There are people to talk to whenever needed, be it the course leadership, link tutors, mentor, fellow students or former students that are now teachers at the placement schools, and I found them all to be really approachable and helpful.” – Cian

“I chose a SCITT training route for the full-time experience of being within a school, learning from experts rather than being mainly book focussed. I have been able to apply my theoretical knowledge as well as gaining valuable support from full-time class teachers to develop a ‘real life’ insight into the life of a teacher and learning from their expertise.”Andrea

“Choosing Teamworks as my training provider was one of the best decisions I have ever made, due to the amazing quality of the training, guest speakers and above all the tutors. Teamworks has a real family feel to it and the team really want to get the best out of you as a teacher. They are always there for you if you have any issues at school or need advice for assignments or jobs.”Chris
